Digital cricket scoreboard for box cricket and turf grounds
ForthUmpire Display is an on-ground digital cricket scoreboard that takes its score straight from the ForthUmpire scoring app. The scorer taps each ball on their phone and the board at the ground updates ball by ball: runs, wickets, overs, target, run rate and every delivery of the current over. It is built for box-cricket and turf-arena owners in India who want a real scoreboard on the turf without hiring someone to run it.

What makes it different from a regular LED scoreboard
Most digital scoreboards are a display plus a manual controller: someone at the side of the ground keys in every run. ForthUmpire Display has no controller. It is connected to a full ball-by-ball scoring app, so the board, the scorecard and the live link everyone shares are all fed by the same taps.
Updates itself every few seconds
The display checks ForthUmpire for the latest score every few seconds, so each ball the scorer taps shows up on the board almost straight away. If the internet drops for a moment, the board simply catches up on its next check.
Scored from any phone
There is no separate console, remote or keypad to learn. The scorer uses the same free ForthUmpire app on iPhone, Android or the web, and the display follows it.
Pair by code, confirm by OTP
Each display has its own code and QR. The scorer pairs their phone to the board in the app, with an optional one-time PIN so nobody can take over a board from the next net.
Built for back-to-back slots
When a booking ends, the scorer unpairs and the next team's scorer pairs straight away. No reset, no reboot, no staff member needed between slots.
Result, then next match
When a match finishes the board shows the winning team and their final score for 30 seconds, then switches to the next live match as soon as one starts.
Owner dashboard
Facility owners see every display at their ground in one place: rename a board ("Net 1", "Net 2"), print its pairing QR, or release a stuck pairing.
What the scoreboard shows
- Batting team name, runs and wickets
- Overs and legal balls bowled (for example 10.5)
- Target and runs still needed in the chase
- Current run rate
- Every ball of the current over, including wides (Wd), no-balls (Nb) and wickets (W)
- The result and winning team for 30 seconds after the last ball
How it works at a box-cricket ground
- Mount the display at the groundThe board goes where both teams and the bench can see it, with power and an internet connection.
- Scorer opens ForthUmpireThey start a free Quick Match with two team names and the overs for the slot.
- Pair the phone to the boardScan the display's QR or type its code in the app, and confirm with the PIN if one is asked for.
- Tap each ballRuns, extras and wickets go in with one tap. The display updates with every delivery.
- Unpair after the slotThe next booking pairs their own scorer and the board carries on.
Digital cricket scoreboard price in India
Hardware price for one ForthUmpire Display unit, backed by a manufacturer warranty. The scoring app your scorers use with it stays free. Final pricing depends on the setup at your ground, so ask us for a quote.
How the display can pay for itself
Add a small Rs. 100 "live scoreboard" charge to each slot booking. Most grounds run up to 5 slots a day, so here is the simple arithmetic against a Rs. 60,000 display:
| Slot bookings per day | Extra per month | Months to cover Rs. 60,000 |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | Rs. 9,000 | About 6.7 months |
| 4 | Rs. 12,000 | About 5 months |
| 5 | Rs. 15,000 | About 4 months |
Illustrative arithmetic at Rs. 100 per slot booking over a 30-day month. Your bookings, pricing and running costs (power, internet) will differ.
A board on the turf is also something players notice. When two grounds cost the same, the one with a live scoreboard is an easy reason to book again.
Now taking enquiries for the first installations
ForthUmpire Display is a new product. We are speaking with box-cricket and turf-arena owners across India about the first installations. If you run a ground, get in touch and tell us how many nets you have and how many slots you run each day.
