About ForthUmpire

Live CricketScorer — built so every match gets a proper scorecard.

ForthUmpire is a free, live cricket scoring app for the matches most clubs actually play: gully, box, school, college, club and tournament cricket. We make ball-by-ball scoring fast, scorecards automatic and a shareable live link the default — so anyone watching can follow the game in real time.

Our vision

Cricket is the most-played bat-and-ball sport in the world, but most matches still end without a proper scorecard. The book gets lost, the totals don't tie, the run rate is a guess, and the family member who couldn't make the ground has no idea what happened. ForthUmpire exists to fix that — for every match, not just the professional ones.

“Every game deserves to be remembered ball by ball. The kid hitting a maiden six on a Saturday morning shouldn't get a worse scorecard than an international fixture. If software can close that gap — and it can — then it should, and it should be free.” — Chintan Thummar, Founder

That belief shapes every decision we make:

Where we are headed

The ForthUmpire iOS app is live on the App Store today. The Android app is on its way to Google Play. Beyond the apps, we are building toward a future where every cricket scoreboard — at a turf, a school ground, a society pitch — can be a live one, driven by the same scorer and the same data. Lower friction for scorers, more parents and friends following along, and a proper digital record for every match played.

We are independent, self-funded, and we ship from India for a global player base. If you score cricket — at any level — you are the reason the product exists.

Chintan Thummar

Chintan is the founder of ForthUmpire and the engineer behind the live scoring engine, the live shareable scorecards and the tournament leaderboards. He grew up around amateur cricket and built ForthUmpire because the matches that mattered to him personally — gully, society, club — were the ones being scored the worst.

ForthUmpire is the product he wishes had existed when his own teammates were arguing over the run rate on a folded-up scorecard. The product roadmap is shaped first-hand by scoring real matches: every workflow you see in the app has been used in a real game before it shipped.
